Alister & Breanna - The Wedding

As a wedding photographer, it's always a treat to work with couples who are truly unique and upbeat. We had the pleasure of photographing Alister and Breanna on their wedding day, by the water which is an added bonus. I was lucky enough to have met Alister and Breanna in their element a bit earlier at their engagement party, after shooting their engagement session I knew this bunch would be one for the books. They were excited and majorly ready to be hitched which was a treat, it was an unforgettable day!

From the moment I met these two, it was clear that their wedding would be anything but boring. After most of their family had touched down not even 24 hours before, the day was already off to an exciting start.

Alister and Breanna chose to get married in front of a flower-adorned gazebo on the lake. The peaceful and serene setting of a lake provides a beautiful and natural backdrop for the special day, and the reflections on the water add an extra layer of romance to the photographs.

As a photographer, it is important to be prepared for the unique challenges that come with shooting in this type of environment, such as dealing with reflections, managing the natural light as the sun set, and navigating the plethora of photo ideas that water brings. With careful planning and a creative eye, it is possible to capture the beauty and emotion of a lake wedding in stunning and timeless photographs to have forever.

As the day unfolded, I was constantly amazed by the couple's upbeat personality despite the usual stress of a wedding day. They had incorporated so many unique and personal touches into their wedding, from having her brother as their officiant to recreating their parents’ wedding photos, these two kept us on our toes.

Photographing such a beautiful and positive couple on their wedding day was a truly rewarding experience. It reminded me of the power of bringing others together and the importance of celebrating with people from different places. I can't wait for the next opportunity to work with a couple who is just as unique and excited as this one!
